Kinetic Spectrophotometric Determination of Ascorbic Acid by Using Phenanthroline Agent in Eruca sativa

Ascorbic acid is used for treatment in hypovitaminosis, nutritional deficiency, scurvy, gingivitis, Barlow and Basedow diseases. In this study, a simple sensitive kinetic spectrophotometric method was developed the determination of ascorbic Eruca sativa. The rate formation product formed as result reaction with iron (III) sulfate phenanthroline reagents determined by measuring absorbance at 510 nm wavelength 5 minute intervals 60 minutes. measurement curve prepared from standard solution linear concentration range 4.0-6.0 mg/mL. regression equation obtained graph logarithms molar concentrations versus slopes found log (rate) = 2.5721 logC - 9.461 (r=0.9999) according to initial method. applied sativa samples amount fresh leaves be 72.80 mg/100 g.
